One of the things we most love about exploring a new place is the chance to tag a trip onto a fun event. It’s a great way to see another side of a place and its people and a perfect opportunity to make memories you’ll treasure forever! (cheesy but true).
Greenland is already an off-the-beaten-track destination which makes it top on our list of places to explore. Here are some exciting events taking place in 2020 that might inspire you to turn your dream into an action plan.
- Arctic Circle Race – APRIL 3 – APRIL 5
Could this be the toughest and most jaw-dropping cross-country skiing race in the world? If you dream of challenges then you can join skiers from all over the world to race 160 km across 3 days, spending nights camping in tents in the wilderness. More details
- Arctic Sounds – APRIL 9 – APRIL 13
Love music? Love culture? Plan your trip to coincide with Arctic Sounds. The festival philosophy is based on a playful approach to serious work. We like their style! This annual music festival celebrates talent from Greenland and other Nordic countries and Arctic regions. More details
- Maaji Nuan! MAY 1 – MAY 31
AWA Founder Larissa is born in May so she’s always going on about it being the ‘best’ month of the year. Turns out Greenlanders agree. ‘Maaji Nuan!’ means ‘lovely May’ in Greenlandic. Each year they dedicate an entire month to sport events in Greenland … the best bit … they’re all free of charge! More details
