Discover the Arctic in 2025: Four Incredible Expeditions for Adventure Seekers
For those dreaming of breathtaking landscapes, unparalleled wildlife encounters, and the thrill of true exploration, summer 2025 offers a unique opportunity. One of our partners is preparing an incredible two and a half month programme of four interconnected expeditions that span some of the planet’s most remote and stunning regions.
Each phase of this adventure tells its own story, yet together they form an epic journey that pushes the boundaries of exploration. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a curious soul seeking your first taste of Arctic wonders, there’s a phase of this tall ship sailing expedition calling your name.

Phase 1: Circumnavigating Svalbard
**Route:** Longyearbyen – Full Svalbard Circumnavigation – Longyearbyen\
**Dates:** July 14 – July 25, 2025 (12 days, 11 nights)
Our adventure begins in the high Arctic archipelago of Svalbard, home to polar bears, walruses, and glaciers that spill dramatically into the sea. This 21-day journey circumnavigates the entire archipelago, a feat few expeditions can claim.
Setting sail from Longyearbyen, the crew will navigate through icy fjords and narrow straits, stopping to explore untouched landscapes and historic sites of early Arctic exploration. Highlights include visits to the towering bird cliffs of Alkefjellet, the remote island of Kvitøya, and the ghostly remains of 20th-century whaling stations. Wildlife is abundant here; participants should keep their cameras ready for close encounters with seals, Arctic foxes, and the elusive king of the Arctic—the polar bear. Each day offers a mix of thrilling on-deck experiences and onshore excursions guided by experts.
This phase is ideal for adventurers who want a deep dive into the Arctic ecosystem and a sense of completion as we circle the entire region.

Phase 2: Svalbard to Greenland
**Route:** Longyearbyen, Svalbard – East Greenland Coast\
**Dates:** August 14 – August 28, 2025 (14 days, 13 nights)
Leaving Svalbard behind, the second phase crosses the Arctic Ocean to Greenland’s wild and rugged east coast. Over 14 days, participants will experience one of the planet’s least-visited and most pristine regions, where towering mountains meet endless ice-filled fjords.
The crossing itself is a voyage of wonder, with opportunities to spot whales, seabirds, and other marine life as we sail. Upon reaching Greenland, the crew will navigate the iconic Scoresby Sund, the world’s largest fjord system. Jagged peaks rise from the water’s edge, and massive icebergs drift serenely in the frigid currents. We’ll also meet the local Inuit communities who call this remote area home, learning about their rich culture and how they thrive in harmony with the Arctic environment.
This phase is perfect for those seeking the thrill of open-ocean sailing combined with the chance to explore a land of extremes.

Phase 3: Greenland to Iceland
**Route:** Reykjavík, Iceland – Reykjavík, Iceland
**Dates:** Expedition A: August 28 – September 4, 2025 (8 days, 7 nights); Expedition B: September 4 – September 11, 2025 (8 days, 7 nights); Expedition C: September 11 – September 21, 2025 (11 days, 10 nights)
Phase 3 shifts the focus to the transition from the Arctic to the sub-Arctic. Participants can choose from three expeditions, each offering an exceptional Arctic experience. Expedition A and B are shorter 8-day, 7-night journeys ideal for travelers seeking a snapshot of Iceland’s landscapes and wildlife. Expedition C, an 11-day, 10-night adventure, provides a deeper exploration of this incredible region, blending icy wilderness with geothermal wonders.
Departing from Scoresby Sund, the crew will chart a course through open seas, keeping an eye out for marine life such as orcas, humpbacks, and seals. Arriving in Iceland, the crew will step ashore in a land of contrasts, where waterfalls cascade over cliffs, and geysers erupt dramatically from the earth. Stops include explorations of Iceland’s east fjords and a chance to experience the vibrant cultural scene of Reykjavík.
This shorter phase is ideal for travelers looking for a mix of wild nature and modern comforts, bridging two unique worlds.
—
Phase 4: Iceland to Norway Expedition
**Route:** Reykjavík, Iceland – Faroe Islands – Shetland Islands – Norwegian Fjords – Bergen, Norway\
**Dates:** September 22 – October 3, 2025 (12 days, 11 nights)
The final phase of our journey sees the crew journey transitioning from Iceland’s dramatic coastline to Norway’s iconic fjords. Over 13 days, they’ll sail through the North Atlantic, stopping to explore the stunning Faroe Islands and the historic Shetland Islands before reaching Norway’s iconic fjords.
Departing Reykjavík, the crew will cross open waters before reaching Norway’s fjords, where sheer cliffs plunge into emerald waters. Highlights include visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord. The expedition concludes in Bergen, a charming city steeped in maritime history and surrounded by stunning mountains.
This phase is a celebration of natural beauty and cultural discovery, providing a fitting end to the summer’s grand adventure.
