Another World Adventures

Slovenia: Hike, Bike & Raft

Duration: 7 days
View Dates

With its crystal-clear emerald lakes, picture-perfect castle and fairytale island at the foothills of the Alps, Bled is the perfect spot to base your eight-day active adventure in Slovenia.

Hike lush trails on Mt Vogel in Triglav National Park, go cycling next to the Radovljica River and hold on to your helmets on an exhilarating white water rafting trip on the Soka River with expert guides. Walk the Vintgar Gorge boardwalk, discover the secrets of Ljubljana and see the little village of Ribcev Laz. Along with all this adrenaline, there’s plenty of free time to discover bled at your own pace – kayaking or ziplining, anyone?

Why you'll love this adventure

  • Hike along lush trails from the top of Mt Vogel, within Triglav National Park, looking down to the valley where the deep green forest meets the bright blue of the glacial Lake Bohinj.
  • Cycle through mountain pastures beside the Radovljica River to a valley strewn with wildflowers.
  • Trek through Bled to Vintgar Gorge across rapids, waterfalls and pools. Find your reflection in the sparkling water below from the boardwalk on the rock face.
  • Explore picturesque Bled at your own pace – famous for its fairytale-like surroundings, including the lake with a church and medieval castle smack bang in the middle. Maybe go kayaking on the river or indulge in the iconic cream cake.
  • Go whitewater rafting over the rugged rapids, gates and pools of the Soka River, taking in stunning alpine scenery as you follow your expert guides.
  • By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Intrepid Foundation partner, World Bicycle Relief. Donations provide school kids, health workers, and farmers in far-out areas with bicycles that provide access to education, healthcare, and income.

Tour operator

We love this operator for the freedom and flexibility they give travellers to get off the tourist trails and really experience local cultures. Their style of small group travel is perfect for solo travellers, couples or small groups of friends and their grassroots style of travel seeks to have a positive impact on the communities they visit.

They use local leaders, local accommodation & transport and support local community projects, ensuring sustainability is at the centre of everything they do.

In addition, they expect their staff and travellers to demonstrate the principles of responsible travel – respecting people, cultures and local environments; in the distribution of wealth; in good will and cross-cultural sharing; and in contributing to sustainable development.
